On a HP Smart Touch 600 PC computer from 2009 running windows 7. We've tried multiple times to get a full threat scan and it doesn't fininsh. This weekend I ran the quick scan which found five hundred or so vulnerabilities. It finished, I quarantined the bad stuff, restarted then began the full scan. After fifteen hours it still had not completed so I pressed the Cancel button then hit the X in the upper right corner. My wife used it yesterday for her yahoo email and to look at urbanthreads.com for some embroidery downloads. I just went upstairs to make sure I had the computer model name correct for this note, clicked on malwarebytes to discover it didn't cancel and its still runnig after 27 and a half hours of scanning.

Any ideas?

Hello and :welcome:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
