MBAM 3.0 and avast free?

Recommended Posts

Hi ChromeDome :)

From the Malwarebytes 3.0 FAQ:

Quote

Can Malwarebytes 3.0 run alongside Symantec or McAfee?
Certainly! We built Malwarebytes 3.0 to be compatible with all major anti-virus software, even Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials. In fact by default Malwarebytes 3.0 installs in compatible mode alongside Defender, MSE or third-party antivirus products.

Since avast! is a major Antivirus software, Malwarebytes 3.0 should be compatible with it.

Hi Aura,

What exactly do you mean by " Malwarebytes 3.0 installs in compatible mode alongside Defender"??

What is "compatible mode" and how do I install a software to be compatible with another software???

FWIW, after running both for the last few days I've found MalwareBytes v3.0 and avast free v12.x are very compatible.

MalwareBytes provides that precious extra layer of protection necessary in today's internet climate.

After several years of using "MBAM" all of us need to get use to "MalwareBytes". MBAM is now history.
