David H. Lipman Posted December 9, 2016 ID:1078703 Share Posted December 9, 2016 MBAM 3.0 still does not target Document files, Scripted Malware and Media files. Nor will it target DOS and 16 bit executables. It also does not clean files that are infected by a file infecting virus or clean files that have been trojanized ( aka; patched ). MBAM v3.0 is also not VIM or MAPI compliant. There is a wide misperception that all malware are viruses and Malwarebytes may be considered disingenuous in stating MBAM v3.x is an anti virus replacement. With all the inabilities in the software, it is still an adjunct anti malware solution and not a traditional anti virus application replacement.
