Installation Access violation error

Recommended Posts

I don't know what happened, at first my computer said that the program was shut out by the administrator (this is a personal laptop so im the only one using it) so I thought of reinstalling it. after downloading the installer after the language selection I would get this error "Runtime error (at 14:76): Access violation at address 6D3BF87B in module 'suhlpr.dll' Read of address 00000000."

Hello Hatsuken,

Are you installing 3.0.4 over existing Malwarebytes products?  If so, please do the following:

1. Uninstall 3.0.4 via Control Panel>Programs and features > Uninstall a program

2. Download and run mbam-clean from here http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_clean  (Note - mbam-clean is only applicable to versions 2.x)

3. Reboot, then please try again to install 3.0.4

Let me know how that worked out for you.

im no longer seeing the message, but while installing another error popped up before it completely finished which is this.

during installation I got a totally different error though " D:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbshlext.dll

Unable to register the DLL/OCX: CreateProcess failed; code 31." any suggestions?

I am getting the same msg when trying to upgrade from Malwarebytes Premium 2x.

I followed the advice from Ried:

But still getting ...

Runtime error at 14:76
Access violation at address 6721FA3B in module suhlpr.dll
Read of address 00000000

Thanks dcollins.  Your cleaner worked for me.  I did reboot after running the mb-cleaner for Malbytesware 3.x.   I did not remember that I had installed or attempted to install Malwarebytes 3 on this PC because there were no typical indications such as an icon on the desktop.  I'm so very glad that I found this forum and tried this solution to the Access violation at 'suhlpr.dll'.
