Hi TwinHeadedEagle  and thanks for the reply.

Malwarebytes didn't find an any infection to clear.  Here are the scans .  As you will see in the files I made another user a few days ago  as I can't seem to do anything under the first user. On the addition.txt you can see errors where I tried to log on as that user but it is still unusable. Not sure if this info is any help but I thought I would let you know.

Thanks for your time and any help would be appreciated.

TW Eagle,

I logged in windows as the user that seems to not be infected then downloaded chrome.  I then logged in windows as the user that seems to be infected but I can't use chrome, and windows becomes unresponsive (somehow microsoft edge has taken over). I then logged onto the "good"  user and I'm able to use chrome and windows . I can't make Chrome my default browser as microsoft edge seems to be taking over ...... something with the     maybe ?

Hey TW Eagle,

So I made another account and with that account I was able to make chrome my default.     # 2 account does now too (progress).                 BUT  the "infected " account is still a no go as  it is stuck on Microsoft edge.....now the infected account when I launch the micosoft edge It goes to

msn.com/?ocid=edgsp               then gets hung up and I can't do anything not to mention the open task manager

Any ideas TW Eagle ? Thanks !

TW Eagle,

I tried using the guide on the "infected" user it doesn't allow me to use a different browser other than Microsoft edge. When I try to go online using edge it first launches to go to

go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=219472     for a quick and I mean quick second then redirects to msn.com/?ocid=edgsp            then that's it.......... the computer becomes unresponsive to the point where I can't do anything, I can't bring up task manager or shut down windows properly    I am forced to turn the computer off and then back on .
