Real-Time protection effective on a Limited Account?

Recommended Posts

I will install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium on a computer where the user uses a limited account. I know that if I will have to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium with the admin account, and while in that account schedule the updates and scans.

But when the limited user is going to use the computer, will the Real-Time protection  be effective (with admin rights) on that limited Account?

Hello and Welcome...

You need to set it up in the admin account as you mentioned.  Then all scans and updates will be performed under that account access.  Real time protection will function normally under all accounts.  If some malware is found, it may be possible to have admin rights to remove the items.  That being said, if you have Real Time Protection running, your chances of getting infected are a lot less.

No, if Real-Time protection detects it, it would stop if in its tracks from getting on the computer in the first place.  If real time protection/scheduled scan detects it, since the schedule scan was configured as an admin, it will be able to remove it.

Where it comes into play, is if you are logged in with a limited account, and you perform a manual scan as that limited user.
