That may be expected behavior.  I will try to get requested an authoritative answer.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi ingber--

Can you please clarify what exactly you mean?

Do you mean the Exclusions you entered are being deleted from the Exclusions list in the user interface?  If so, can you describe exactly how you are entering the exclusions and when you see them disappear?

Or do you mean, you enter an Exclusion, but Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware still tries to quarantine and remove the item anyway?

Thanks,

Hi.  I mean this in the simplest interpretation.  I enter exclusions, e.g., for problems I had with MBARW inn the past, e.g., Cygwin's setup-x86_64.exe, TexLive's perl.exe, and CCleaner64.exe.  They are still there a few days after I enter them.  A couple of weeks later I check again and they are gone.  I enter them via the MBARW browser and click on them.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. That is not intended.

Can you please ZIP up the following directories and attach it here?

                                 C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\
                                 C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\
                                 C:\ProgramData\MalwarebytesARW\

I'm hoping these logs will help us figure out what's going on here.

Thanks,

I cannot attach the requested folders as they exceed your limits.  Give me an ftp site?

Lester

Even 7z does not help:

Here are 3 7z folders; I'll try the 4th in a separate post:

% ls -l *7z
-rwxrwx---+ 1 ingber Users  3143558 Nov 29 07:16 ARWMBAMService.7z
-rwxrwx---+ 1 ingber Users  1624243 Nov 29 07:17 ARWMalwarebytesAnti-Ransomware.7z

-rwxrwxrwx+ 1 ingber Users 33508285 Nov 29 07:15 MalwarebytesAnti-Malware.7z

ARWMalwarebytesAnti-Ransomware.7z

ARWMBAMService.7z

The 4th sounds an alarm:

1 file was larger than the maximum file size of 30.0000mb, and was skipped

So, I 7z'd all the .arw files inside.

mbarwind.7z

mbarwind-00.7z

mbarwind-01.7z

mbarwind-02.7z

mbarwind-03.7z

Note that I could have used the -v (volume) switch in 7z, making thee attached files easier to handle.  For example, I created:

% du -s *
10240   MBARW.7z.001
10240   MBARW.7z.002
10240   MBARW.7z.003
6624    MBARW.7z.004

However, when trying to upload these, I got:

Allowed file extensions are: doc, csv, docx, dmp, gif, gz, jpg, log, mp3, mp4, png, pdf, psd, rar, wmv, xls, xlsx, zip, txt, 7zip, 7z

You might want to include volumes in your permitted uploads?

Lester

Hi ingber--

Thanks again for all the logs.

We've been unable to reproduce what you're seeing here and we can't really see any major issues from your logs.  We also haven't heard of this issue from other users, so our best guess at this point is that there might be some sort of corruption with your installation.

Would you be able to try fully uninstalling Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware and then downloading and installing the latest version again?

You can download BETA 8 from this link.

Let us know if you continue to have this problem.
