MBAE and internet explorer add ons question

When you say MBAE Free protects Internet Explorer add-ons do you mean only add-ons by Microsoft or any software I may download that integrates into IE via add-ons?

The reason I ask is there is two programs I have always wanted to download: Adblock Plus and Eagleget download manager, but I am loath to download them, not because they aren't safe in themselves but I am concerned that their integration (add-ons) into Internet Explorer might open me up to possible exploits.  I'm wondering whether MBAE would protect me against these exploits.

Hello Alhazred,

It would protect you. The protection layers we put in place make it so nothing can exploit IE (website or addon) to drop an infection on the computer. The different protection layers do this on all of our browser related shields so you can install those without worrying about them opening up any holes. We constantly update our protection to make sure that doesn't happen.
