MML2050 Posted November 25, 2016 ID:1074747 Share Posted November 25, 2016 I am a new convert to PREMIUM. I ran all available scan options, including rootkit. It found Siredef.c and deleted it from recycle bin (oddly). In researching, I saw on this forum 3 major steps to download apps and do seeral cleanups outside of MWBytes (a rootkit, a registry backup). Why is that necessary if MW found and deleted these files? Is it necessary? The post dated from June of 2016. Thanks all.
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 30, 2016 Root Admin ID:1075957 Share Posted November 30, 2016 Some of the other tools help find remnants of malware that may have been missed. No single tool can clean a computer 100% every time. Much depends on what you were attacked with. In most cases it's more for peace of mind than anything else. You may wish to read the following. The complexity of finding, preventing, and cleanup from malware Did you need any further assistance or are you okay?
