Does it Protect Shares

Recommended Posts

If someone has the ransomware running on their computer.  But does not have the Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomeware running.  But I have it running n my computer, are my opens shares protected?  Or will it not be able to detect files being encrypted on my PC if the executable is running off another computer?

nudge, any answer for this?

Very important point, if it can stop copying of ransomware to mapped network drives of \\openshares this would be great for businesses.

Hi guys,

apologies for the late reply here.  MBARW can only monitor local processes for Ransomware-like behavior which means we dont protect the scenario of a remote ransomware process modifying local shared files.  This is a really good use case though that ill try to bring up to the ARW team here @ malwarebytes.

Regards,
