Backdoor.Regin in MBAM tmp file

Recommended Posts

Hi,

While MBAM was scanning Norton Security popped up a risk, Backdoor.Regin, located in MBAM program temp file:

c:\program files (x86)\malwarebytes anti-malware\00014558.tmp

I’m guessing it is another Norton false positive? Or is it for real? And in your program file?  But it is quarantined and being a tmp file, I’m not worried about it.

This is what Norton says it is:  https://us.norton.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2013-121221-3645-99

Thanks.

Jud

Hello and Welcome...

Malwarebytes does not make those tmp files, those are usually done or created you your antivirus software when it was performing a scan and it could not fully access a file in the Malwarebytes folder.  Its find to let your Norton remove the file, it will not interfere with the operation of Malwarebytes.
