Error: "Your license failed to activate" - BETA version

Recommended Posts

A remote user uninstalled Malwarebytes anti-malware and installed installed the anti-ransomware BETA and got this error below. Any thoughts?

["There was a problem activating your Malwarebytes anti-ransomware Beta". Your license failed to activate. ]

Thank you.

Hello Martin_RRR and :welcome:

It would be best if the user established a direct contact with this sub-forum.  However, for the free embedded MBARW Beta license to activate, and normal subsequent operations to continue, a permanent path must exist between the MBARW Beta program, its key files, and all URLs within the following guide:

        https://www.malwarebytes.com/pdf/guides/AntiRansomwareAdminGuide.pdf -> Page 2 -> External Access Requirements.

The user must ensure that if any sort of proxy setting, HOSTS file entry, web filter/third party firewall/security applications are in use, that the above URLs be regarded as Trusted.

A 3rd party security application may require the following permanent file exclusion:

   %ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes\Anti-Ransomware\MB3Service.exe or %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Malwarebytes\Anti-Ransomware\MB3Service.exe

If the user's system(s) is part of business/enterprise, they may be interested in Malwarebytes Endpoint Security which also has the enterprise version of Anti-ransomware.

Please thank the user for participating in the Home/Consumer MBARW Beta testing program and their valued feedback.
