guy3949 Posted June 28, 2007 ID:5828 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Hello i was wondering if the free version of rogue remover detects noadware? The reason i ask is when went to noadware.net my trend micro internet security gave me a warning about that site so i knew to stay away from noadware. I was also looking on malwarebytes roguenet and seen that noadware was listed as number 53 but i could not find noadware listed in the programs targeted area on my rogue remover. I also did not find noadware on rogue remover's online database. I have the latest version of rogue remover.
Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted June 28, 2007 Root Admin ID:5829 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I believe we delisted it after a re-evaluation. It didn't produce false positives the second time around, therefore we could not legitimately detect it.
guy3949 Posted June 28, 2007 Author ID:5835 Share Posted June 28, 2007 The warning i got said noadware.net was a dangerous web site with spyware. I did not download the program. I ran a full scan with pc-cillin internet security 2007,spybot search & destory, and windows defender and did not find any spyware. Is it the website that is bad or the program? Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted June 28, 2007 Root Admin ID:5837 Share Posted June 28, 2007 It is only the program. I still believe the program uses an impractical approach with their software, however after testing it, it did not produce false positives. NoAdware.net is not a dangerous website and does not install spyware.
guy3949 Posted June 28, 2007 Author ID:5840 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Do you think trend micro gave a fasle warning about this site?
Root Admin RubbeR DuckY Posted June 28, 2007 Root Admin ID:5841 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I think what Trend Micro is going by is a blacklisted list. It isn't directly detecting that spyware will start installing from the site but it is saying that the website is on a list of not so nice sites. There are some horrible ones, such as those that will install spyware, and there are some regular ones, for example NoAdware.net.I think Trend Micro exaggerated the hostility of this website, however it is better to be safe than sorry.
