I cannot remove PUP.Optional.Elex.SHHKRST

Recommended Posts

Dear Support,

my Malverbytes anti-malware program found this threat, i cleaned it, but then on a second scan it found it again. I followed through the instructions given on this site:

http://www.malwareremovalguides.info/pup-optional-elex-removal-instructions/

but my actions were not successful, since after restarting I checked again with the software and it popped up again as a detectable threat.

What can I do more to get rid of this problem of mine?

Thank you for your answer!

P.S.: I am attaching the log file of my latest scan.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, if possible, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools.

Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link :

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
•Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

•When the scan has finished, it will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach the FRST.txt in your reply.

•The first time the tool is run, it also creates another log named Addition.txt. Please attach that to your next reply as well.

**Please attach both FRST.txt and Addition.txt**

I have attached A file I need you to download and save it to the same place that you saved the FRST program

Download attached **fixlist.txt** and save it to same location where the FRST tool is located.

NOTE: Both FRST.exe and the fixlist.txt must be in the same location or the fix will not work.
Close all browsers before running.

After that you don't have to do anything else with the fixlist, we will continue using the FRST tool.

Right-click on *FRST* icon ( !https://sites.google.com/site/cannedfixes/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/FRST.gif! ) and select ( !https://sites.google.com/site/cannedfixes/home/hosted-images-tools/RunAsAdmin.jpg! ) *Run as Administrator* to start the tool.
_XP users just double-click, and then click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File._
_8 users will be prompted about Windows SmartScreen protection - click More information and Run._

The tool may want to update itself - in that case you'll be prompted when the update is completed and ready to use.

This time please press *FIX* and wait patiently.

A reboot may occur.

Upon completion a logfile will be opened (also saved to the desktop) called *fixlog.txt*.

They will look like this:

Please *attach that file* for my review.
