Ken G Posted July 3, 2009 ID:95485 Share Posted July 3, 2009 My anti virus program (BitDefender) keeps finding and removing something called atdmt which is apparently a data miner. I ran BitDefender deep system scan which found and removed the infected file, then re-booted and ran an Antimalware scan which found nothing. I then ran Iobit's Advanced System Care which again found and removed the atdmt infection. I was hoping that Antimalware would find and completely remove this as it appears that neither BitDefender nor Advacnced System Care can, but Antimalware doesn't even find it. ATDMT is a tracking cookie served by Facebook subsidiary Atlas Solutions and used as a third-party cookie by several websites to track Off-Facebook Activity, which will then become linked to your Facebook account to target you with ads on their platform. The cookie originates from the domain atdmt.com which is owned by Atlas. Very creepy, but it's true. By the way, why are you running three AVs? Having more than one anti-virus or internet security software with real-time protection enabled can cause them to conflict with each other, which will slow down your system performance. You should research all anti-virus and internet security software available, and only pick one.
