I installed Malwarebytes on my fathers computer and it will not let me update it. Every time I try to update a window pops up and says "An error occured. Please report the following error code to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware support team. Error Code: 732 (0, 0)" His compter is running Windows XP. On my computer I am running Vista 32 Bit and it updates fine why will it not update on his computer? Any help?

If you really want to investigate this further then please follow the directions below and we'll dig into it with you.

Many things could be the cause and it will require scanning and logs (which we don't really work on here in the General forum) to see what's going on.

Scan and post logs - read note at bottom in green

If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve.

  1. Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now?
  2. If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs
  3. When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested.
  • Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum.
  • Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you.
  • Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming.
  • If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved.
  • Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback.
  • There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review
  • NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.

Could the error 732 be a connection speed issue? Today, mbam updated fine from my dsl connection. In my other home I only have dial-up, thats where I got the 732. Coincedence??

It very well could be a connection issue. If you think your not infected, and your pc is working ok now?

then don't post: Scan and post logs

but remember what AdvancedSetup said on the top of his post

Let us know how your pc is running, Post back with any issues, comments, or questions..regards

Hi;

I also use Avira. I dont know what kind of Avira you have but I use Avira Premium 2009. I tried all the suggestions in the forum and the thing that did it for me was I included http://malwarebytes.org in the Webguard Exceptions tab. I'm not sure about Online Armour firewall settings but in Comodo Firewall I just included mbam.exe / mbamservice.exe / mbamgui.exe

I also inluded www.malwarebytes.org in the Security Exceptions of Firefox.
