Cant get rid of PUP.optional.crossrider and popups

Recommended Posts

Guys, I've read plenty of threads and tried a few different things and have been unlucky so I'm hoping to get some support here.

On a daily basis, in fact, every time I restart my computer and do a scan, I get new PUP listed as crossrider (2 of them). I remove them, restart my computer, detect 0, and then 2 minutes later, the popups begin, and when I scan again, I find the same issues.

I have copied an application log, as I've seen people ask for these, but I may need assistance from here.

I've looked in my installed programs and I cant find anything abnormal. I have also tried using adwcleaner and CCleaner with no luck. I have MalwareBytes Premium

Hello and :welcome:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
