False positive - eso64.exe (Elder Scrolls Online)

Recommended Posts

I am using Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware Beta Version Shortly after closing the game "Elder Scrolls Online" I get the message, that the associated "eso64.exe" has been quarantined.

I already rebooted and added the file to the exclusions, but it still gets detected and quarantined everytime after playing the game (i. e. after closing the application).

Hello Amdjeru and :welcome:

Available data strongly suggests a false positive, and since the following pathname has been entered in MBARW GUI -> Exclusions, and the binary has been uploaded to the developers, please allow the entry to remain until you are requested to remove it:

              K:\ESO\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\eso64.exe

Reference: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/784a63938fe0594bc3313a5bceca26d7d5eff963dbfcc975c0af74af85bdcac1/analysis/1467219751/  Unsigned

At any time, a MBARW development team member, QA team member or Staffer may request the above temporary exclusion be altered/deleted.

Thank you for beta testing MBARW and your valuable feedback.
