Update Database problem

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (free) v. 2.2.1.1043 installed on my windows 10 laptop and each time I try to update the database I get the error message "unable to access update server". I would like to upgrade my account to a premium one, but I need to fix this problem first. Can anybody help me with this please?

Hello George_Geo and :welcome:

If step #1 does not succeed, please continue at step #2 to provide input for the expert's to analyze.

  1. Please try the following and reply if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  2. If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  3. The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.

Please update the status of your issue in a reply to this thread.

Thank You.

Hi George. This is not unique to your computer. I, too have this issue. I feel that this has been caused by an update to Malwarebytes, which has corrupted the installer for this program. I have reported this issue on the forum, but unfortunately, Malwarebytes forum moderators feel that this software is infallible, and the issue will always be solved by the 2X removal process, and re- installing the software! This is simply NOT the case. Re- installing the software does absolutely NOTHING to correct the problem. I would advise forgetting about Malwarebytes all together, until they correct their bug ridden software!
