hi all, i installed spywareblaster today after reading a few topics on it on this site.during the download from one link i had to shut the box down as it frooze.then i tried another link and it down loaded fine but while surfing afterwards i noticed that it was really slow to access some sites and would'nt load at all. i then uninstalled spywareblaster thinking this would fix my problem, but it did'nt. for a few sites i get "oops this link appears to be broken" any idea's ?

i ran malwarebytes and the logs are clean.

any advice would be great.

thanks kev

Hi Kev! While your waiting, for any other replies, ideas, ect... I would re-boot your pc and do an AV scan. Let us know how the reboot went & if the scan was clean please....

EDIT: something to look over Security Software Updates: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3835

OK kev! check out the two links above, I would have to download the program to see how it works here. Your mbam is clean you stated. Just check your AV. I see that on the 2nd link we have some users that have more experience with spywareblaster than I do. Maybe they can address your post.

cookies seem to follow everyone everyplace! I can't reproduce the problem you are having. Whats your browser? and OS? and isp is dsl/cable?

I have the program now & I may keep it? Did you download it from Cnet? It may be an isolated issue. If its still going on? I can get someone to look at your top post..after the reboot, and AV scan, are the pages loading ok now?

Well we got the preliminary av & mbam scans out of the way. (a chkdsk & defrag is up to you). I'll pm one of the users here to look at your post. Who has been using spywareblaster more than me (which is 1 hr. now I'm using it with no probs.)

So check your post here later/or next day ..they may be an idea form another user. Good luck. regards...

kpgumbo, I don't see what operating system and service pack level you are running on the Dell nor its specifications as to CPU type and speed and how much RAM the system has.

I have a real old XP Home SP3 with P4 2.4GHZ CPU and 512MB RAM that 32MB the video adapter uses and it runs SpywareBlaster fine but it takes IE8 about 15-20 seconds to open to Google home page but each tab opens quite fast after that plus I have 6MB DSL connection that makes surfing quite fast.

I would clean out IE's Temporary Internet Files (TIF) with CCleaner and if you have not done a defrag in a while then it might help.

Hi kpqumbo

There's a known incompatibility between SpywareBlaster and Internet Explorer 8. Omitting the technical details, this has to do with the fact that SpywareBlaster enters a whole lot of Restricted Sites into IE's settings, and that is messing up Microsoft's new technology in IE.

Go to Microsoft Update and make sure you're all up to date. A recent update by Microsoft should have fixed the problem.

If it all still doesn't work,

Download: DelDomains.inf - Right-click and select: Save Target As

To use: right-click and select: Install (no need to restart - there is no on-screen action)

This will delete all the sites in IE's Restricted Sites.

Hope your problem gets fixed!

Best Regards :D
