How can I restore my Internet?

Recommended Posts

I downloaded Malwarebytes to get rid of malware that Avast! couldn't, and now I can't connect to a bunch of different sites, including Steam. Avast! had that problem for me at first as well, but all I had to do for that was disable the Web Shield (which was unnecessary anyways AFAIK). Malwarebytes doesn't have that option, and configuring my Firefox preferences has done nothing to fix the issue. I'd just use MacRemover to completely uninstall Malwarebytes, but Malwarebytes blocks that as well.

So here's my question: how can I either completely uninstall Malwarebytes or stop it from blocking sites? By the way, the error is "Unable to connect".

I'd edit the base topic, but I can't seem to find an edit button, so I'll just have to self-reply I guess.

I managed to get Malwarebytes fully uninstalled but I still can't connect to Steam and such. Same error and everything. I'm getting really impatient with this "Unable to connect" crap. It only started after I downloaded Malwarebytes, and now it seems that something else has screwed over my Internet.

Hello NeverWantedThis and :welcome:

Please provide the following for expert analysis:

Please read Diagnostic Logs and individually attach the 2 requested logs only from Log Set 1 in a reply to this thread.

Those diagnostic output text logs to be posted are FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Thank you.

Hello NeverWantedThis:

Your posts indicate the computer is probably infected and malware removal actions are not permitted in this subforum.

I recommend following the advice from the topic: Available Assistance for Possibly Infected Computers and have one of the Malware Removal Experts assist you with your issue.

If, as recommended, you do open a topic in Malware Removal Help, please make reference to this thread.

Thank you.
