Website Blocked even after UNINSTALLING MBAM

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I had an issue I've never seen before after activated MBAM Premium. A customer website was blocked at the name resolution level for no reason. I determined after pinging the address and that it returned a loopback (127.42.0.1) that it must be a security "feature". I completely uninstalled MBAM and rebooted the computer and the website still doesn't resolve and all pings still point to the loopback. I then reinstalled MBAM and decided try to add the domain and IP to the Web Exclusion list to no avail. I then disabled disable Malicious Website Protection and no joy - same result. What the heck is going on here???

Was finally able to get this issue resolved. The issue was that I had installed MBAM as well on the internal DNS server that the rest of the network was pointing to for name resolution. Once uninstalling from there, it started working. It still doesn't explain why their website was blocked by MBAM to begin with, but at least the issue is resolved. Thanks!
