MBAM delayed start up does not work?

Recommended Posts

I am using the Windows 7 Home Premium, and i have earlier always used the command Services.MSC to set the MBAM service to Automatic(delayed start), since MBAM has at several occassions caused Windows to freeze at startup or start up very slowly otherwise.

After downloading the latest release of MBAM 2.2.1, it does not work to set the MBAM serive to Automatic(delayed start) while using the command Services.MSC. Everytime i restart the computer and then when checking Serives.MSC, the standard setting Automatic start is there again.

Does anyone has any advice how to set the MBAM services to Automatic(delayed start) that will remain after restarting the computer??

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome back:

Until a staff member has a chance to answer your specific question, a couple of things come to mind.

First: the modification of Windows services on a system robust enough to run Windows 7 ought not to be needed.  (And doing so does reduce your realtime protection.)

Also: the preferred way to control MBAM startup, when needed (e.g. on older hardware), would be to use the advanced settings in MBAM (dashboard > settings > advanced settings > advanced options) -- see screenshot.

Perhaps there is something going on with your system (e.g. software conflict, configuration, temp files, hardware issues, etc) that may permit a different solution to the "freeze at startup" issue you report?
As such, we could probably assist you better if we had a bit more information about the system.
To provide that info, I suggest following the advice in this pinned topic: Diagnostic Logs
Then, please ATTACH all 3 logs to your next reply in this thread.
We will review the logs and advise you as to how to proceed.
