Question on this Malwarebytes Popup

Recommended Posts

Not exactly sure what this is, but it keeps popping up since yesterday morning all of a sudden. My computer installed new updates overnight that night.

How do I prevent it from popping up? It is almost constantly popping up even after Xing it out. I did a malwarebytes scan with no results and also a Super AntiSpyware and got rid of the spyware but it still is coming up.

Thanks.

Hi fireman :)

There's an article about this situation (Malwarebytes blocking Skype) in the Malwarebytes Support - Consumer part of the website.

https://support.malwarebytes.org/customer/portal/articles/1835328-why-does-malwarebytes-anti-malware-block-skype-?b_id=6438

To sum it up, since Skype is a P2P program, it can connect to IP that are known to host malicious content, so Malwarebytes will block the connection, though it shouldn't affect Skype in any way. This article also points to two other articles that shows you to exclude a file, folder and/or process from Malwarebytes. Personally, I suggest you to add the Skype.exe process to Malwarebytes' process exclusion list as it's easier.

Alright I think I found it not, mine just has program files (x86) but everything else is the same. I will close Skype and reopen it.
