Infection devours boot drive

Recommended Posts

My infection from March has returned:

I reran Zoek with the following parameters:

ipconfig /flushdns >>"%temp%\log.txt";b

on Sunday and it cleared my boot drive.  But my boot drive space disappeared again to today. I reran Zoek again (output file attached) and again my boot drive space is back.  But the root infection apparently is still there.  Suggestions?

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Malwarebytes didn't report any malware this time.  But it did report malware back in March that would return until I used ZOEK to clean the system last March.

Yes I use backup.  CrashPlan for the cloud and Acronis for local backups and to mirror my boot drive.

Boot drive has a capacity of 223 GB and normally about 120 GB of free space.  Last time about my boot drive had about 3 GB of space left. Last Sunday I was down to about 200 MB of free space.
