my laptop is just not working

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have a VAIO Yseries. I got it in 2012 and i haven't used it since 2014..

now when I turned it on i have all kinds of problems:

1. When it reboot, it automatically open cmd box, and then it has pop up that says: windows sockets initialization failed

2. i turned on the wifi, but it won't read any signal, it said that windows could not automatically detect this network proxy settings

3. Window security center service can't be started, I tried to manually open it in the save mode, still did not work

4. gdipluss.dll is missing, I tried run regserv it said gdipluss.dll register server was not found make sure gdipluss.dll is valid or OCX file

5. can't open Internet explorer

So, right now this computer can't go to internet, can't do anything really, because it's always take forever to load.

I downloaded malwarebytes from another computer and tried to install it there but it said: Runtime error (at92:100): Could not call proc.

Could anyone help me identifying the problem causing this and whether it is fixable or not.

Thanks!

Hello and :welcome:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

HI,

I forgot to add, it also sometimes popped up: service.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correct. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Please download Zemana AntiMalware and save it to your Desktop.

  • Install the program and once the installation is complete it will start automatically.
  • Without changing any options, press Scan to begin.
  • After the short scan is finished, if threats are detected press Next to remove them.
Note: If restart is required to finish the cleaning process, you should click Reboot. If reboot isn't required, please restart your computer manually.
  • Open Zemana AntiMalware again.
  • Click on [IMG] icon and double click the latest report.
  • Now click File > Save As and choose your Desktop before pressing Save.
  • The only left thing is to attach saved report in your next message.
