[CLOSED] External link issues

Looking at the source, the links that redirect to the thread have an attribute for preventing external link following.

I will reach out to the OP to get details in case this was intended or something else.

I see it as...

<a target="_blank" href="https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/MS16-039" rel="external nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/MS16-039</a>

In reference to the original post that references another thread... It looks like a failed copy paste for the most part. Almost all the links don't work except for the bottom ones.

@Tarun - interesting.  OK.  I went pretty stupid on that one lol.  I thought you were looking at the code for the post, completely escaped me to just do a view source.

This is what I see in there:

<p>
	<strong>Today Microsoft released the following Security Bulletin(s).</strong>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Note:</strong> <a href="" rel="external nofollow">http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security</a> and <a href="" rel="external nofollow">http://www.microsoft.com/security</a> are authoritative in all matters concerning Microsoft Security Bulletins! ANY e-mail, web board or newsgroup posting (including this one) should be verified by visiting these sites for official information. Microsoft never sends security or other updates as attachments. These updates must be downloaded from the Microsoft.com download center or Windows Update. See the individual bulletins for details.
</p>

And I now see what you mean exactly.

Call it a "I can't see the forest for all the trees!" moment if you will.

So far no one has been able to reproduce this when creating links. This would mean that it was an issue accidentally introduced by copying/pasting content that had the ExternalNoFollow attribute attached then editing of links in said content was done rather than creating new links.

Marking this as closed for now.
