People are way too curious. When a USB is found at my ex-College, people usually send a message to the "Spotted" Facebook for it, and say they found a USB Flash Drive in X room, around Y time. Then people contact them and if they can prove they are the USB Flash Drive owner, they give it back. There's no need to plug it in and access its content to find the rightful owner too.

Also, if I were ever to find a random USB and had to plug it in, you could be sure that it would be on an old test box I have that isn't connected to the Internet and have nothing on it.
