new mbam Light version Suggestion

Recommended Posts

will I have a new Suggestion here and I want to share it with all right here so my Suggestion is make a new other "Light version of mbam" because as all you know the Current version of mbam is a bit heavily on the CPU Resources (and have scanning very slow).... so I suggested that follows

1- removed the rootkit scanner from the Mbam

2- removed the real time website protection/malware protection

3- removed heuristic engine

4- removed scan with archives

5- removed all Advertisement stuff

6- Changing all the big button "we don’t need for a big one"

7- the GUI should be reduced like the new Kaspersky Removal tool "we don’t need for program GUI to take all space of the screen "

Since our current version although there's still some bugs ware not been fixed yet I’d like to see a better version of mbam like in version 1 it has a fast scanning Ability and lees CPU/RAM Resources used so it’s just my new idea ! :)

edit : this new Light version of mbam  should be a free for a non Non-paying users (free users) :D:P

1,3,4 You can already turn of in settings if you wish. #2 is already off in the free version.

Only if you have a old junk low resource computer.

The current version of Malwarebytes isn't "heavy" on the CPU, nor is the scan time long. It's all relative to your computer specs. And as someone who've seen them in your Speccy snapshot, I know that you have a low-end laptop, and therefore it's totally normal for Malwarebytes not to be "blazing fast" on it. It isn't a reason to create a "light" version of it either.

1. The Rootkit scan is off by default in Malwarebytes. Simply check it off if you don't want to use it.
2. ... Why? You want it to be a on-demand scanner only? I don't see the point, even less if you are to pay for it.
3. Heuristic Engine... Do you REALLY, REALLY think that signature-based detections are enough in 2016?
4. Give me a reason why you would want to do that.
5. That suggestion was made already. Also, a simple banner isn't taking a lot of resources on a system.
6. I cannot find any logical reason as to why you would want to do that. Smaller button != better performance.
7. Same as #6.

To sum it up, your idea is pretty useless in my book, and I don't see it happening any time soon. If Malwarebytes was to release a light-weight version of the product, with your suggestions in it, it would be one of the useless scanner out there (mostly because of the removal of the Rootkit and Heuristic engines).
