Info for a Windows 7 install

Recommended Posts

I have the lifetime paid version of mbam. I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit and am about to do a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Do I use the same mbam installer? Also what is the process for uninstalling and then reinstalling? I had a post that gave me this information but since this update to the forum I can no longer click on my "Content" to find my posts.

Hey, Nikilet.

The best practices when performing a clean install as as follows:

  1. First, make sure you have your current license information (Key, and ID if your information supplies both).
  2. In MBAM, Click on the My Account area at the top right, then use the Deactivate button to deactivate the license on the current build.  This will revert MBAM to the free version.  See https://www.malwarebytes.org/support/guides/mbam/ViewLicenseDetails.html for more information.
  3. Now you're ready to perform your clean install of Windows 7.  You may use the existing version 2.x installer on the new OS, or you may download the most current installer from https://www.malwarebytes.org/

That all there is to it.  Good luck!
