Possible Conflict with Norton Internet Security (NIS)

Windows 7 Professional, SP1; NIS 22.6.0.142

Installed MBAR several days ago. NIS issued an update that required a reboot. On restart the icons had been rearranged, and set to medium size. THE NIS History (as well as I understand it) suggests that NIS is treating mbamservice.exe as an intrusion. I realize mbamservice.exe is not mbarw.exe. But the described behavior is coincidental with the mbarw.exe install, and the NIS update.

1.) MBAR directly relates to Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit Beta. Is this what you truly meant to send?

Hello bbraun and :welcome:

2.) Does the system in question have any edition/version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) installed?

3.) Please create the following zipped archives for developer team analysis:

Create a zip archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\
Create another zip archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\

Please attach the above zipped archives to your next reply.

Thank you for beta testing MBARW and your valued feedback.

Hi bbraun -

mbamservice.exe would be associated with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM).

MBAMService.exe would be associated with Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware (MBARW) BETA.

Note the caps in the MBARW file. Also, each file is associated with a different service. MBAMService in the case of MBAM. MB3Service in the case of MBARW.
