Black Screen after restart

Recommended Posts

I'm literally in tears trying to figure this out!

I ran malwarebytes and restarted. After restarting Windows booted directly into safe mode.

I restarted again into normal mode using msconfig.

But popup box came up stating Malwarebytes needed to restart again to fix the network settings.

After restarting and logging in...I was met with a black screen! Now i can't go into safe mode through msconfig or Shift+Restart.

What do i do?

Hello and Welcome::)

It sounds as if you may have some malware remnants or damage.

We are not permitted to work on possible malware-related issues here in this section of the forum.
Such work is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic:
Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue - the helper will guide you through scanning, cleanup and repair.

Thank you,

Hello and :welcome:, @Tanki:

Actually, the OP's computer was infected, so it's not clear if your workaround may have helped.  Also, this thread is pretty old by now -- it's unlikely that the OP is still following it.  (It's a good idea on an internet forum to check the date of the post before replying, especially when it comes to computer stuff.)

Enjoy your stay,
