Anti-Ransomware Beta keeps dropping protection

Anti-Ransomware Beta protects part of the time and then will suddenly drop protection without notifying me.  I discover it by opening the program to check.  Now it is saying that my system is "fully protected," but also says "Anti-Ransomware Protection is disabled," and it won't let me start protection.

Thanks for the information.  However, it does seem odd that we would have to opt in each time to something that is designed to protect us.  I would rather have it start automatically when I booted my computer.  Perhaps there is a reason for it that I am missing?

After rebooting the computer, protection always is shown as disabled. Protection must always be started manually after a reboot.

Not for me.

It might be a delayed state, waiting for all things to get up and running.  Have you tried rebooting and not logging in immediately, wait, say, a minute, to see if that makes a difference?

Yes, that did make a difference, but it doesn't seem to be consistent.  Sometimes it starts protecting right away and other times it takes a while.  Then some times it says I am protected, but that Anti-Ransomware Protection is disabled (red dot), and it doesn't let me start protection.  A reboot generally fixes the last situation.  Maybe over time it will become more consistent.  Thanks for your help.

Hello cod196 and :welcome:

Please create the following archives for developer analysis:

Create a ZIP archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\
Create another ZIP archive of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\

Please attach the above zipped archives to your next reply.

Thank you for beta testing MBARW and your valued feedback.

Hello cod196:

If a conventional Windows restart to the Normal boot mode has/does not resolve(d) the reported issue, please consider a clean re-install of MBARW Beta:

1. Close all open Windows applications followed by a conventional Windows based uninstall of Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware.
2. If MBARW Beta was uninstalled successfully, the following directories will have been deleted from a typical Windows 64-bit system:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\
C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\
C:\ProgramData\MBAMService\

3. If any of the above directories remain, please delete them manually. If necessary, any remaining/uninstalled directory may be deleted in the Windows Safe mode.
4. Execute a conventional Windows restart to the Normal Windows boot mode and log-in through an Administrator's account. <===IMPORTANT!
5. Using an Administrator's account only, download a fresh MBARW_Setup.exe file and save to the Administrator's Desktop from the MBARW Introduction topic.
6. Right-click the MBARW_Setup.exe file and left-click RunAsAdmin.jpgRun as administrator from the context menu.
7. Upon a successful installation, please restart the computer in a conventional manner to the Windows Normal boot mode.

Please reply to your topic with the status of your reported issue.

Thank you for beta testing MBARW and your valued feedback.

It has been three days since I reinstalled Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware Beta using the instructions above in this forum topic, and it seems to be working normally now.  It no longer drops protection spontaneously, and it is operative every time I reboot without having to turn it on manually.  When it says I am protected the green dot is present, as opposed to before when it would say I was protected in one area of the window but not in another area of the same window with a red dot present and not letting me start protection.  Thanks for the help.  If it misbehaves again, I'll report it in this forum topic.

Hello @ven22 and :welcome:

It is disappointing to read your testing system is having MBARW Beta issues but each computer is unique. Problems that seem "the same" frequently are not.

The same is true for solutions. Solutions may often need to be individualized for your unique testing system.

It is less confusing for everyone if a "One Member Per Topic" policy is adhered to instead of posting to the topic of another member.

Development Team Members, Staffers and helpers will be able to more easily provide both you, and the OP/Topic Starter, with individualized assistance.

Thank you always for your patience and understanding.
