I'm jumping in here - I'm fairly new to MWB, and have no problems. Thanks to this thread, I've set my scan time to 9:15, when my computer is always on, and have set the updates to every two hours. If this is overkill, let me know.

It would be better to start your own thread (and perhaps the mod team will split off your post and this reply to its own topic).

(It's overly confusing for everyone to work with multiple users in one thread.)
 

Having said that:
Yes, a daily threat scan and update checks every 1-4 hours should be fine.
There's no need to obsess about scheduling the scan time for when the computer is "always on".
Depending on how you have the scheduler configured, either MBAM will make up a "missed" scan, or it won't.
Either is fine, and it's largely user preference.

Scans are only a second-opinion for MBAM Premium -- the most important feature of MBAM Premium is the real-time protection to help PREVENT infection.
