A routine check of the 'ShieldsUP' checjk, shockingly revealed that literally all service ports are no longer 'stealth' with Avast Firewall and disabling & testing with Windows Firewall gave better 'stealth' cover. and also protection from 'Reverse DNS', a shocking revelation..

Maybe, the latest version update 2253 of Avast has introduced vulberability in it's Firewall.. In fact, Ghacks carried a report of Avast 'Safezone' browser leaking user's personal info/data access due to a serious vulnerability which was patched in the latest version update 2253..

Though I've now switched to ZoneAlarm Firewall and I'm more inclined now to go with 'Windows Firewall'  and welcome any views.. Tks..

i tried everything I could.. reset Avast firewall to default settings and then set it up, also disabled it's 'Secure DNS' but had no change.. while with Windows Firewall, the ports were 'stealth', with Avast it was alarmingly all 'closed' and some were even 'open', very frightening..

Then, I decided it's better to be safe than sorry and went for ZoneAlarm.. But with slightly better results with Windows Firewall and less of a memory hogg, the inclination to go with the native Firewall, is overwhelmling.. Only hesitant, since non-Windows firewall are the norm everywhere.. Can you help me decide, please? ..Tks..
