But I had some questions. I had talked to someone via phone support previously unless mistaken (about a year ago), but now it seems they have severed that olive branch with home users? If you look around online, you can find many horror stories about either Malwarebytes having poor support, or another company posing as Malwarebytes support and locking people out of their systems, or cards being charged twice, and then accounts cancelled when the second charge was refunded, and lifetime licenses not being honored, and being revoked etc. Either way, it's not the greatest PR and/or Support.

I guess I am here asking the community at large if MBAM is, as of 2/23/2016, worth purchasing. I had intended to buy it for almost a year now for a new workstation, but I want to make sure I'm not throwing money at a company that doesn't support it's customers, and is beginning to slip into the death spiral of trying to make ends meet at the cost of user satisfaction. Is there a number I can call? Web support is alright, but I would much rather communicate in a more direct fashion.

TL;DR : Is MBAM worth buying in 2016?

I have no reason to not like MBAM just yet, but I like to look into things I am spending money on as best I can...

Thank you, all!

I have been using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit for a few years.  I have been completely satisfied with their customer service and their products.  I did have an issue or two with MBAE, but Pedro Bust, here on the MBAE Forum, got the problems resolved promptly.  I have been a regular on these Forums during that time and have not seen really any serious complaints of a lack of customer service or serious problems with their products.

I am a Study Hall Senior over at Bleeping Computer, studying malware removal.  Malwarebytes is one of the companies producing anti-malware products that is frequently recommended.  There is no one "best" security suite of packages.  Personally I used Bitdefender 2016 Total Security, plus MBAM Premium and MBAE Premium, to secure my computer, plus practice safe surfing and do full system images weekly.  There is a lot of malware there out there!  There are other reputable companies producing anti-malware detection and removal software packages, but there are also some shady companies.

I am not in any way affiliated with Malwarebytes, so I am just sharing my experience with their products.  In helping folks out in my small community with computer issues, I consistently recommend Malwarebytes anti-malware products.

Far from being in a "death spiral", Malwarebytes recently acquired JRT (Junk Removal Tool -thisisu) and is in the beta process of testing a new anti-ransomware product/component.  The company seems to be moving ahead energetically.

Just my two cents.  Have a great day.

Regards,

-Phil
