Possible Positive RW in Open-Source Amateur Radio tool CHIRP

This morning I received an update notice, while running the currently installed CHIRP which is an open-source tool used to program Amateur radios. Within the pop-up notice was a link to update: http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home

The downloader flagged the download as potential threat because it was a .exe ( dot exe ) file.

I scanned the exe download file with AVAST and No Threats were found.

The download was for the Window's OS.

When I attempted to run file chirp-daily-20160215-installer.exe, it was flagged as Ransomware and quarantined.

The quarantine lists it as Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic.

Would truly appreciate knowing the validity of this quarantine as this tool is used by Many.

Thank you
