Enable protection

Recommended Posts

As I turn on my PC (Windows 10), sometimes I read the Malwarebytes notice " protection in disabled" other times " protection is enabled"

Is there any setting to get the protection always enabled ?

Morning All.

MBAR updated to version 0.9.9.314 this morning.

I was asked to reboot the PC since the update.

Post-update, MBAR did not automatically re-enable protection and had to do it manually.

The OP is having the same issue.

@NKCGroup you seem to have your problem resolved.. It's about @edgardo's issue, which is what needs a Screenshot of what he is talking about, as there is no clarity as to the specifics of the problem?..

Hi Edgardo,

I'm not sure if this will help you... however when Mine showed disabled and I could not start Protection...

...I had to manually stop and start the service again.

After this I restarted the application from my start menu.

Start> Run> Services.msc

->I believe it was MB3Service (open the properties and verify the service is located in the malware bytes directory)

Once the service had started I simply opened Malwarebytes Anti-ransomware and clicked Start Protection.

I've the some issue.

When windows 10 start the realtime protection is off, if I click on "fix now" button or on "start protection" the realtime protection switch to ON and still on, if I reboot the pc the protection still off again.

Click on "FIX NOW" and protection is on

I made several reboot and protection was always ON

I played with start/stop protection command (yes, no one should play so)

I click stop to get protection  OFF, I click start to get protection ON, and so on sequentially four times

The fifth time I played MBARW hang (see the screenshot)

Anti-Ransomware is disable and Your system is fully protected !!

After this, I found no way to Fix. I had to reboot the system

Hello edgardo:

Please create the following files for developer analysis:

Create a ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\

Create another ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\

Please attach the above zipped files to your next reply.

Thank you.

Confirmed, I can reproduce this problem, BUT.. if you right click on the system try icon and select stop protection then click start protection then open UI you will see it shows protection is on again,  $.02
