Getting MBARW to work after the error 'Unable to connect to service'

Recommended Posts

I was getting this error after installing a fresh install of Windows 10 Home edition x64 on a brand new HP Pavillion all-in-one desktop.

I read the comments other people had stated and Nathan's reply regarding testing to see if it worked in Safe Mode with Networking. I tested this and it still gave me the error:

I then rebooted into Normal mode and the program started fine.

I did check that the Windows Firewall wasn't to blame, but am unable to figure out what caused it though. Just posting this as it may help someone else out.

If you need logs, let me know.

Could insert images via Imgur for some reason

Hello and :welcome:

Please create the following files for developer analysis:

Create a ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware\.
Create another ZIP file of the directory C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs\.

Please attach the above zipped files to your next reply.

Thank you.

Also, I was unable to edit the original post? Is this due to a low post count?

Yes - that's correct.

I expect the developer will weigh-in soon.

Thank you for the requested files.

For me it is the same as in TeGift73. The program is still useless! Only problems!

Can you check it the Service is running? Run "services.msc" and look for the MB3Services. Is it started or stopped? If stopped, try running it.

Please take the time to read our update post on Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware and the False Positives issues. This post also goes into detail about what to expect for BETA 3 update which will fix a lot of the reported issues. Thanks!

Still have this problem, after MBARW made a false positive of "PowerDesk".

How can I get an update to this program?  Don't know what version I have now -

it will not run.

Also the False Positive link does not work.

I really want MBARW to work.  We live in a nasty envirnment.

Help.

John

Hello jwyman1:

It is disappointing to read your testing system is having MBARW Beta issues but each computer is unique. Problems that seem "the same" frequently are not.

The same is true for solutions. Solutions may often need to be individualized for your unique testing system.

It is less confusing for everyone if a "One Member Per Topic" policy is adhered to instead of posting to the topic of another member.

Development Team Members, Staffers and helpers will be able to more easily provide both you, and the OP/Topic Starter, with individualized assistance.

Thank you always for your patience and understanding.
