Exceeded re-install Quota

Recommended Posts

We have a lifetime lics for MBAM.  The problem  PC is win7x64.  Much trouble we have had over time & to avoid a re-install / reformat nitemare we format + install win7 + programs for a quick change-over.  Now though just got a pop-up notice we exceeded the re-install limit.

How can i raise a support ticket to have it reset plz?

Hello and Welcome!

The most efficient way to resolve activation issues is to contact the Help Desk. :)

  • If you already have a ticket at the Help Desk, please try to be patient. The Help Desk is busy, and they are also assisting users with technical support and malware cleanup cases.
    • Please do not open multiple tickets there -- doing so will slow down the process and could delay their response to you.
  • If you do NOT already have a ticket at the Help Desk, you may open one HERE.
    • Please provide the Help Desk with as much of the following information as possible (but do NOT post this sensitive information here in this forum):
      • Name of purchaser
      • Email address of purchaser
      • Date of purchase
      • cleverbridge reference number (or details about the seller, if it was NOT the Malwarebytes online store)
      • MBAM license ID and Key information
      • Screen shots of any error messages or other dialogs
  • Either way, please be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders, to verify that the emails from the Support team did not land there by mistake.
In the interim, you may wish to perform a CLEAN REINSTALL of MBAM -- the setup wizard will offer a 14-day Trial with the full, premium features, while you sort out the licensing issues. (1 Trial per PC per MBAM program version)

Please send me or Gonzo a PM with the email address used. Typical reply time is same day currently but we were having a back log due to Desk.com who runs the software for our help desk was down for a couple days.

We can check on the status and get back to you.

Thanks

Thanks Ron, I did get a resolution from the Help Desk just a few minutes ago. I was advised that I should de-activate the license before un-installing mbam. Is that a new license management requirement (or did I just get caught in a system problem as Gonzo suggested previously)?

Help Desk response:

You have reached the activation limit for all 3 codes. I have reset the codes for you as a reminder the code you purchased is for 1 PC. If you have issues with your computer please deactivate the software first by going to my account.

Thank you for contacting Malwarebytes,

I'm fixed, but the thread originator AaLF53 is still hanging as far as I know. AaLF53: I did get an auto-acknowledgement right after I submitted my issue on 02/06.

In general I'd say that "most" users would not run into this but yes there is a limit to the activations so multiple reinstalls could trigger it as you've experienced. Its been using this new activation method now for over a year I believe so it's not "new" in general unless one is referring back to a couple or years or more where it did not using live activation.

If you or AsLF53 still need any further assistance please let me know

Thank you

Ron
