False positive: uTorrent 2.2.1

Recommended Posts

uTorrent 2.2.1 has been wrongly detected as a ransomware.

Furthermore, since it was running, it has been marked for deletion at the next reboot, and therefore it was impossible to restore it immediately.  After the reboot, I've restored it from the quarantine, but the restored exe was damaged and not recognised by Windows7 as a valid program any more.  Aaaah!

Hey Cyber,

We allow torrenting applications because they arent just for bad. For example i use them to download large legit files.

But we don't ignore the bad. We make sure to blacklist dangerous connections that these torrent applications connect to, so you get the best of both worlds :)
