I am running Win7 64-bit.  When my laptop starts, Internet Explorer pops up with a URL from lowermybills.com and the usual "Obama mortgage blah blah blah" ad.  I tried both MBAM and Adwcleaner and neither was able to detect anything wrong, and I don't see anything in startup or services that might cause this.  Any ideas?  Let me know if I should paste the entire URL, I don't want to post something potentially infectious unless I know it's ok.  Some clues:

URL starts with

https://media.lowermybills.com/cookE/geoip/iframe?spacedesc=

Other key elements in the URL include the following:

&x_pkey3=device^{device}|devicemodel^{devicemodel}|keyword^{keyword}|placement^{placement}|target^{target}

&target=_blank

&random=...

&@CPSC@=http:/www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=... (long string of crap here)

&num=1

&cid=blah

&sig=blah

&client=blah

&adurl=

Kevin, really appreciate your efforts to help.  Actually I was able to resolve the problem.  I had a program called iFunbox installed.  I have it configured to run at startup and it was completely problem free for months, until this week when the unwanted popups started.  I found a related thread on reddit and all iFunbox users have been crying foul.  I uninstalled and the problem is gone.

I have no idea if there is some sort of triggered "payload" (to use an old virus term) within the program that was set to detonate this week, or there is some sort of flexible code within the program that allows it to download extra ad-grabbing modules whenever it wants, or what.  All I know is that this program was definitively the problem.  I don't know if that information helps you improve your product but I will report it just in case.
