archangelinga Posted December 28, 2015 ID:1009387 Share Posted December 28, 2015 For a couple of days my Internet connection was tenuous at best. This morning I see my malicious website protection is disabled. I click on enable and it just goes back to disabled. I need help. Thanks in advance. I am not a computer whiz so please be patient. BobOHell Posted January 3, 2016 ID:1010548 Share Posted January 3, 2016 I had a similar problem, starting with a popup box telling me that my MalwareBytes (Premium) had stopped working. It asked if I wanted to look for a solution online and I clicked "yes" but nothing happened. I could see that MalwareBytes was still installed on my computer, but I couldn't access it and it had (apparently) stopped working. Like you, archangelinga, I suspected a virus because I had left the computer on for several days with a whole bunch of tabs open in my browser and had also accidentally opened a suspicious email. Anyway, following the instructions above, I rebooted my system, and MalwareBytes was back again. We just ran a full scan (also with my virus scan software) and both scans came up clean, so I think everything's working great again. Must've been a fluke. Thanks for your help. daledoc1 Posted January 3, 2016 ID:1010614 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Hello and welcome, @BobOHell: Your problem (program crash) sounds different from the one described by the OP (disabled realtime protection). However, the clean reinstall appears to have resolved it for you. Thanks for letting us know. P.S. If you ever need more help, we suggest that you please start your own NEW, SEPARATE topic using this clickable button. The staff and experts will be able to more easily provide both you and the OP with individual help to get you both up and running.
