Hello:

Thanks for the logs.

We would like to be able to assist you, but your logs indicate that the computer is being used to actively pirate software.

That violates the forum Piracy Policy.

Unfortunately, no further help can be provided at this time.

If you would like further assistance, you'll need to uninstall/remove all cracked/pirated software from the system and then contact a forum Administrator to request that the topic be re-opened.

Thanks for your understanding.

Here is part of what is on the system. It needs to be removed and then pass a Microsoft validation.

Task: {032C2B96-287E-4B05-A742-FCF8C25EE6D6} - System32\Tasks\AutoKMS => C:\WINDOWS\AutoKMS\AutoKMS.exe

Once that has been removed then do the following please.

MGADiag.png Scan with MGADiag

Need to check one more thing.

  • Please download MGADiag by Microsoft and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click on MGADiag.png icon to start the tool.
  • PressContinuewhen prompted.
  • When it has finished, press Copy.
  • Press the WindowsKey.png + R on your keyboard at the same time. Type Notepad and click OK.
  • Paste (Ctrl+V) this into notepad and save to your desktop.
Include that report in your reply.

Thank you

My fault. Not sure what I was thinking. I was looking at too many logs I guess. I thought you were on Windows 7  for some reason. This tool is not supported on Windows 8.1 which the logs say you're running.

Please download the following file and save it to your computer. Then close all browsers and find the file and double-click on it to run it. Once it's done take a picture (using your phone, or a screen shot) of the page and show it to me please.

Download Microsoft Validation Check

Thanks

Okay please try the following then.

Open an elevated Admin command prompt. There should be a command prompt on your tiles, right click and choose "Run as administrator. Then type the following there and post back the log from the desktop.

Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab

Thanks again

Ron

Where did the Operating System come from?

The log says it's not a legitimate OS for home use. Thus probably why the KMS activation tool was installed in the first place.

Up to you what you want to do but bottom line is the OS is not legit. You could possibly get a free upgrade to Windows 10 from Microsoft. I don't know all the details but they're more lenient with people as they're really wanting users to get onto Windows 10

If it were me I would copy any data I wanted to an external drive. Download and burn the ISO image of Windows 10 to a USB stick and then format the drive and install Windows 10 from scratch. In many cases it may activate online with Microsoft with no further actions on your part. I've installed for a couple users with that method and all was good.

No I did not say to upgrade. I said to install from fresh clean install which means to get drivers for the OS on an external USB drive. Then download and create a USB installation of Windows 10 and install from that disk. You backup all your data and format the drive and then install Windows 10. If you use the upgrade path then all the junk and bad things from the previous installation will now be in your Windows 10 version. Up to you though - but Windows 10 installs on it's own time frame. Searching Google one might find a way to force it sooner (never tried as I don't like upgrades - they bring junk and problems from the previous OS )

Here is but one link (there are many others)
