Malwarebytes uses a third party e-commerce site to handle billing called Cleverbridge. 

 

Cleverbridge has indicated that my account is set up for auto-renewal. I am now receiving a pop-up from malwarebytes that it has expired. Not that it will expire in x days so I have some warning. Just instant cut-off. The pop-up can't be removed. I presume if I uninstall Malwarebytes the pop-up covering part of my screen will also go away.

 

Cleverbridge sent me a general type email that indicates successful renewal but not in receipt form. My credit card has not been billed. Going further into their rendering of my account shows my original purchase but not the renewal. 

 

Cleverbridge offers an option to renew manually, Exercising that option took me to a fourth party called F-Secure which wanted a username and password before proceeding any further. I'm assuming but didn't try to confirm that they mean Malwarebytes user/password combo. 

 

So now: My Malwarebytes auto renewal is not working, Malwarebytes choice of ecommerce site requires me to deal with a third and fourth party. Both of those want my email address, Malwarebytes user name and password, Malwarebytes has placed an expired notice pop-up on my screen without warning from Malwarebytes itself, that I can't remove. 

 

Yes, I realize that I can simply uninstall Malwarebytes (at least I hope that will remove the pop-up) and sign up again with a new email address and user name, pretending that I am a completely different person. 

 

This sort of behavior is exactly the kind of thing I want security programs to protect me from.

We're sorry you are having problems with license renewal.

First:
Please be sure you are not trying to activate your license on more computers than your license allows.

Next:
If that does not apply to or resolve your issue, unfortunately, the only folks who can help with licensing problems are the Support folks at the help desk.
We here at the forum do not have access to the necessary transaction information, activation servers, databases, etc. in order to resolve such issues.

  • If you already have a ticket at the Help Desk, please try to be patient. The Help Desk is busy, and they are also assisting users with technical support and malware cleanup cases.
    • Please do not open multiple tickets there -- doing so will slow down the process and could delay their response to you.
  • If you do NOT already have a ticket at the Help Desk, you may open one HERE.
    • Please provide the Help Desk with as much of the following information as possible (but do NOT post this sensitive information here in this forum):
      • Name of purchaser
      • Email address of purchaser
      • Date of purchase
      • cleverbridge reference number (or details about the seller, if it was NOT malwarebytes online store)
      • MBAM license ID and Key information
      • Screen shots of any error messages or other dialogs
  • Either way, please be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders, to verify that the emails from the Support team did not land there by mistake.
  • >>Because of the XMAS holiday, it may take a bit longer to receive a reply.

In the interim, you may wish to perform a CLEAN REINSTALL of MBAM -- the setup wizard will offer a 14-day Trial with the full, premium features, while you sort out the licensing issues. (1 Trial per PC per MBAM program version)

I landed here for similar reasons.  :-(    I have logged a request to open a ticket with the helpdesk.   Is there some area of the forum where subscription questions can be answered or posted?   I've been using the Clever bridge reference numbers for my subscriptions but some renewals lately are using a reference number that for me anyway... is not one of my Cleverbridge reference numbers.    Thanks!

If your having issues its always best to start your own topic....

To answer your question, there is no place here on the forum that can help with subscription or renewals or error codes with your license. All that gets done via the helpdesk or via Cleverbridge. As you have already submitted a ticket with the help desk, please wait for a response from them.
