This is my first post so hello everyone. My pc will get this generic freeze where all programs end up not responding for a short duration. I've tested it and it lags everything from the browser (FireFox & Chrome tested) to any running games and Skype. This happens ever few minutes and I can usually tell when its about to freeze up by the loading cursor. I've been having this issue after removing the malware and of course during the infection but far more serious during it. The biggest issue is that certain freeze ups last 1-2 minutes while some can be no more than 20 seconds. I did have utorrent installed after looking at my apps, I don't even know why its installed anyway. I'm certain that I removed all the malware, but thats probably me being careless. I've attached the FRST and Addition files.

Thanks for the logs, system looks clean now. Do you have any remaining issues or concerns? if none run the following to clean up:

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following items are checked:

  •
  • Remove disinfection tools

  • Purge System Restore <--- this will remove all previous and possibly exploited restore points, a new point relative to system status at present will be created.

  • Reset system settings

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…

Hey Kevin you've been helping me out with my problem and I'm very thankful for this. I'm still however having the same problem. I may have found out the core of the problem which may be the sudden memory spike. It keeps going up incrementaly until it reaches around 90%-98% where my pc completly freezes for a short time and is very laggy. It will stay around high 90s for a minute and just plumet.

Ok, just leave Delfix for now. I want you to run your system in "Clean Boot" mode, see if the issue still happens in that mode. Clean boot is starting your system with all 3rd party services (none system services) disabled.

Full instructions at following link if needed: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows

Thank you,

Kevin

The idea of clean boot is to check if any 3rd party service(s) (none microsoft) is/are the cause of the problem, in your case this seems to be true. What we need to do now is find the problem service(s) that cause the issue.

So with the system in clean boot (all none ms services disabled) follow the instructions again to open MSCONFIG, keep microsoft services hidden. Now manually enable the top half of the "none ms services" close out MSCONFIG and reboot your system.

How does it respond now, is it still fast or is the issue back. If still fast we haved proven that the issue service is not among the ones we enabled. So once again follow the instructions to open MSCONFIG, hide all ms services, disable all none ms services and then enable the bottom half. Close MSCONFIG and reboot, is lethargy now present (it probably will be) if so we now know the problem issue is among the bottom half of none microsoft services.

So we follow the instructions again to open MSCONFIG, with all microsoft services hidden and only bottom half of none microsoft services enabled we disable each one of bottom half one at a time, it is essential to "reboot" after each none ms service is disabled. Eventually we locate the problem service. I know its a laborious task, but it is the only way to find the problem.

It is essential to keep diasabling until all none ms services are checked, it could be more than one that causes the issue.... When you have completed the hunt let me know which service(s) are at fault....
