[SOLVED] Winamp blocked when trying to play songs

When I try to listen to a song through winamp MBAE blocks it and the report says:

Application: Winamp Player

Protection Layer: Protection Against OS Security Bypass

Protection Technique: Exploit ROP gadget attack blocked

File/Process Blocked: N/A

Attacking URL: N/A

Any clue why this is happening?

PS
I followed the sticky that tells you where you have to zip files to attach a log but I am not sure I did it correctly. Please let me know if it is incorrect.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

Please do the following:

1- Verify that your installed version is 1.08.1.1045. If it is not, go to the website and download the latest Free version (it is the same installer as Premium) and install on top of your existing version.

2- Once you have the latest, go to Settings -> Advanced settings and click Restore defaults and then reboot. Does the problem persist then?

The version I have installed is 1.08.1.1045.

I tried resetting the Advanced settings to default and winamp started to work again.

after doing some testing I figured out the setting that caused it. It is "RET ROP Gadget detection (32bit)" under OS Bypass Protection when it is ticked for Media Players.

should I just leave that option disabled for media players from now on?

Thanks for the help.
