Hello,

I have been having multiple blue screen problems lately over the last couple of weeks, have done system restore and other things as well same thing happening driver less than equal one and a other one called bad pool header. I have updated my drivers to my belief but still get it. I went online today downloaded a program called whocrashed and i looked into it and it said the bad pool header one was likely caused by malwarebytes?

I also should not been using malwarebytes for years and have not had this issue before.

also the other one though it did not catch was a driver less than equal blue screen this program did catch 2 blue screen problems been having of bad pool header.

I have updated my computer of drives I believe my graphics card and so on. I also looked into the network adaptors under device manager and manually went to all of them and slected update drivers but it came back on all of them saying all up to date. Unless i am missing something?  I would appreciate any help you could give

crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: mwac.sys (mwac+0x612D)
Bugcheck code: 0x19 (0x20, 0xFFFFFA800DFC8710, 0xFFFFFA800DFC8730, 0x4020010)
Error: BAD_POOL_HEADER
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mwac.sys
product: Malwarebytes Web Access Control
company: Malwarebytes Corporation
description: Malwarebytes Web Access Control
Bug check description: This indicates that a pool header is corrupt.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. This might be a case of memory corruption. More often memory corruption happens because of software errors in buggy drivers, not because of faulty RAM modules.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: mwac.sys (Malwarebytes Web Access Control, Malwarebytes Corporation).
Google query: Malwarebytes Corporation BAD_POOL_HEADER

The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

Hello seanxke:

Firstly, please preserve the recent BSOD's minidump files by copying to a temporary location for possible futher examination and thank you for the data you have provided.

Next, please follow the steps below:

  • Please try the following and let us know if this corrects your issue: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x.
  • If that does not correct the issue, then please read the following and individually attach the 3 requested logs in a reply to this thread: Diagnostic Logs.
  • The 3 files, from Step 2, to be individually attached from your desktop are: CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please do not Copy and Paste them into a reply.
  • Also, please zip the future memory.dmp files individually and attach as above.

I will request this thread remain open for you to update if the Bugcheck BSODs repeat, or if you believe enough time has passed with no BSOD re-occurances.

Thank You.

Hello,

thanks for your reply back to me. So are you saying to remove malwarebytes and then do a clean fresh reinstall then first? Or just take it off, of the system? I have a lifetime license and would still like to use the product still but trying to figure out what is going on lately. I also should say that I use malwarebyes along with bitdefender internet security 2016

The  MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x will walk you through removing Malwarebytes and then reinstalling it cleanly (fresh install of Malwarebytes) (you can de-activate your MBAM lifetime license first).

You can also add exclusions to your  bitdefender internet security 2016 in case there is a conflict. (see below)

Please exclude the following files from your Antivirus Software (not sure what version you are using):

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well

For 32 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8 & Windows 10:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamresearch.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 / 8 & 10:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamresearch.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware \mbamscheduler.exe
Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE, MBAMSERVICE.EXE and MBAMRESEARCH.EXE from it as well

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products

Please post back and let us know how it went.
