Hi I ran malware bytes and then adwarecleaner as I normally do, actually it was the first time I ran adwarecleaner.

Then was prompted by [what I thought was] malware bytes to update so I updated. Then tried to run malware scan again, however this time it wouldn't progress past the check for updates part of the scan.

I let it go for the time being because I was preoccupied, planning to Google it later.

(Using mozzilla) I open my browser and surf the Internet as usual, however, dunno how to explain this, Internet stops working? Browser continuously "connecting" with like the hourglass equivalent, however when going to check my network connectivity it says local and internet, restarting computer it works again, sometimes, but "times out?" Again.

Then more recently browser has had issue with connectivity even after reboot.

Have now run malware bytes in safe mode, which has worked, but has not detected any harmful objects.

Time span roughly 24 hours

Okay.... so that's the situation

My issues

1) I'd like the Internet, and not just some of it, lol...

2) is this potentially 'super' harmful to my computer as in should I change passwords

3) is this a bug from your client or is it some sort of mimicking software?

Thank you, usually I just try to find the answer somewhere and not bother your team, however I couldn't find anything specific to my issue. Anyway premtively thanks again for helping me trouble shoot this. (Sent from mobile)

Hello and :welcome: :

Certain types of malware, and the removal thereof, can break networking/connectivity.

We are not permitted to work on possible malware-related issues here in this section of the forum.

Such work is conducted in a special forum area reserved for that purpose, or at the help desk.

So, for expert assistance, I suggest that you please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.

It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.

A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue - the helper will guide you through scanning, cleanup and repair.

Thanks,
