no internet access, fail to install Mbam or run Chameleon

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

My problems started with a black screen. I went into safe-mode and reinstalled the Graphics-drivers.

This fixed the first problem, but more and more problems came up.

So, I think the pc is infected.

The firewall was disabled and lots of services too. (got most of them back online)

I can ping 8.8.8.8 with 13ms average, but Chrome says I have no connection.

IE closes right after I open it.

Installing MBAM gives an error about permissions and Chameleon gives the error "failed to copy master.conf"

Any help to get my pc working normal again would be awesome.

You appear to connect via ethernet cable, is that correct. That connection looks to be made ok... DNS server settings show as:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

In the FRST logs DNS settings show different, the ip starting with 84 is to Austria Vienna Liberty Global Infrastructure, is this known to you and trusted

208.67.220.220 -

84.116.46.20

Oh wait, my apologies.

I just realised that provider Ziggo has been taken over by UPC. And it's parent company is Liberty Global.

That might explain the Austria Vienna Liberty Global Infrastructure.

I have 2 more computers on the same router and they work fine by the way.

Followed your steps anyways, just to be sure.

Did the DNSJumper with the GoogleDNS this time.

Everything looks normal, as can be seen in screenshot.

But still all browsers (incl portable FF) says I have no internet.
